After Spectra Energy (SE) announced that it would drop all of its US legacy natural gas pipeline and storage assets into its publicly traded MLP, Spectra Energy Partners (SEP). BMO Capital thinks the move will increase Spectra Energy's stock price by $2 in a base case scenario. The firm believes that the deal will accelerate the growth of Spectra Energy's dividend and leaves it better positioned financially to carry out pipeline projects. The firm, however, keeps a Market Perform rating on the shares.
