Ripple Co-Founder Backs Kamala Harris (What This Means For XRP And Crypto)

Chris Larsen, a co-founder of Ripple, has emerged as a significant advocate for Vice President Kamala Harris as the U.S. presidential elections approach. In an interview with CNBC earlier this week, he discussed his reasons for supporting Harris, asserting that her presidency could greatly enhance innovation within the U.S. crypto sector. Larsen has donated approximately $12 million, primarily in Ripple’s XRP token, to her campaign, making him the largest single donor from the crypto industry this election cycle.

The XRP community, and most of the crypto community in general, is very confused by Larsen’s contributions and recent comments, due to the fact that the current administration, and Harris herself, has not been pro-crypto.

Larsen's recent endorsement of Harris is primarily based on her approach to crypto policy in the U.S. He believes that a Harris administration would adopt a more supportive stance towards innovation in the tech and crypto industries compared to the current Biden administration. He criticized the Biden administration's regulatory framework, labeling it a "disaster" heavily influenced by figures like Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has led what he calls a misguided "war on crypto." Larsen argues that the previous administration's policies were "too anti-business," which hindered growth and pushed the crypto sector overseas and away from the United States.

He expressed confidence that Harris would promote a more pro-business environment, fostering growth in tech and crypto. Larsen emphasized that under Harris, there would be a "completely different approach" than that of Biden, one that prioritizes American innovation and positions the U.S. as a leader in the global tech landscape.

Additionally, Larsen noted that Ripple has been engaging with members of Harris's team behind closed doors, indicating proactive efforts to shape a favorable regulatory framework for the crypto industry should she win. He remains optimistic that Harris's administration will support crypto and foster a collaborative atmosphere that encourages bipartisan backing for the industry.

Are you an XRP holder? If so, what are your thoughts on Larsen’s contributions and comments about Kamala Harris?
