As more companies fall in line with the Trump administration's orders to roll back their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, has this affected the income or exposure for creators of color on social media?
"DEI has been reworked and contorted to mean Black or Black-adjacent. And if DEI means Black, then anything that is of Black culture, that consists of Black people will then be penalized with the administration's push against DEI," University of Michigan Ross School of Business marketing professor Marcus Collins explains to Brad Smith.
Earlier this week Citigroup (C) and PepsiCo (PEP) became the latest companies to roll back their corporate DEI initiatives, while Apple (AAPL) shareholders voted to reject a proposal to scrap its DEI program.
Also catch Marcus Collins cover consumers' single-day boycotts planned this week to protest the rollback of DEI programs.
