Stocks getting hit today include Viacom as analysts at both BMO and RBC cut their price targets; Ionis Pharmaceuticals on concerns over side effects for an experimental nerve disease treatment; and Exact Sciences, with shares of the medical diagnostics company tumbling after short-seller Citron Research criticized the company’s Cologuard colon cancer test as a “seriously inferior product.”
Stocks getting a boost today include FireEye as concerns over the Wannacry ransomware virus lifted shares of it and other cybersecurity firms; Cisco as Morgan Stanley upgraded shares of the world’s largest networking company to overweight; and Patheon, with shares of the drug ingredient maker surging after biotech company Thermo Fisher Scientific agreed to buy it for $7.2 billion, including debt.
