A few weeks ago, Bloomberg and The Information published a report that said personal sharing on social networks is down 21% over LAST YEAR.

Now, some of you may say, "Good riddance!" but wait...you may be bored by the personal updates of strangers, but it's really what drove people to social in the first place. And the drop in personal updates with the rise in 'news sharing' and other more professional posts is actually leading to a general social malaise that threatens to kill engagement on social overall.

And for social to work, you need people engaging, not just a bunch of personal brands auto-posting their articles.

Truly Social is a web series that you can share with your boss or client when they're not really "getting" social.

I've been working on this social stuff for over 16 years and I've been a participant in the social web since 1992. My videos will come out every SUNDAY-ish...with 2-5 minute "lessons" on what are truly social practices (and what are NOT).
