Oprah Winfrey and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have announced they are “running mates.”
A week after they briefly talked politics during "Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus” tour with WW in Atlanta, the duo was seen running on treadmills in a 15-second pre-game Super Bowl commercial.
In the ad, which was also posted online and shared on social media, Johnson says to Winfrey, “We’re running. We’re mates … Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
Winfrey responds: “I’m in. Are you in?”
No, it’s not an announcement that they are embarking on a presidential election but a new wellness campaign with WW, formerly Weight Watchers, which Winfrey is a shareholder, board member and spokeswoman for. According to the campaign’s website, it’s “a movement to make the nation healthier, starting with you.”

“As I travel the country for my 2020 Vision Tour with WW, my hope for this experience is to motivate others to make 2020 their year of transformation and triumph - beginning first and foremost with what makes us well,” Winfrey said in a statement shared with USA TODAY Sunday. “Because what we all have in common is our desire to be well.”
During the Jan. 25 Atlanta tour stop, Winfrey asked Johnson if he’s heard some people think the two should run for the White House together.
“I did,” Johnson said. “I mean, look, I've got to tell you, that ticket looks pretty good, Oprah and The Rock.”
During the tour stop, the actor and TV icon icon raised a glass of tequila to honor Johnson's late father.
After the one-on-one conversation in front of a sold out crowd in Atlanta, Winfrey and Johnson recorded the pregame commercial, which also asks followers to tag their #runningmates on their road to wellness.
The nine-arena stop tour continues through March 8.
