Nelson Mullins Broad and Cassel has added partner Glenn Cooper to its Miami office and has named Doug Starcher as managing partner of the firm's Orlando office.

Cooper assists foreign companies and investors with the legal aspects of establishing and maintaining business and investment in the U.S., particularly in the state of Florida. He is the current president of the Canada Florida Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He also runs a business, immigration and government relations consulting firm, Cooper Legal Consulting.

Starcher is a Nelson Mullins corporate partner who also leads the firm's Florida corporate and finance team. He succeeds C. David Brown, who was managing partner of the 110-employee office for three decades.

“Doug worked closely with me for several years in the operations of the office. This is a natural transition, and I am fully confident in his ability to lead the office into the future,” Brown said in a statement.

Although he is stepping down from the office managing partner position, Brown will remain on the firm's executive committee.

The moves come a year after South Carolina- based Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough merged with Florida firm Broad and Cassel. The merger, which took effect in April 2018, pushed the firm's combined revenue to $517 million, according to ALM data, with total attorney head count reaching 707.
