BEST Holiday Deals on Apple iPad Mini 2, Mini 3, iPad Air and Air 2 Tablets Published

CHICAGO, IL / ACCESSWIRE / December 7, 2014 / Cyber Monday may be long gone, but many in-store and online deals on the Apple iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display are still going strong. Even though the discounts have waned over the last few days for certain models, several Green Monday iPad deals are as good as it was during the Cyber Week.

Up to 25% off Green Monday iPad DEALS compares current markdowns on the iPad Air 2 (2014 model), 1st generation iPad Air (2013 model), iPad Mini 3 (2014 model) and Mini 2 (2013 model).

"Considering the relatively small price difference between the 2012 iPads and the 2013 models, we don't recommend these older models anymore" says Casey Donalds, a co-author of these reviews.

"From a hardware point-of-view, 2014 models (iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3) are very similar to the 2013 predecessors. So it’s difficult to justify spending that extra $75 – $80 on a 2014 model. That’s why a lot of people are buying the 1st gen iPad Air or iPad Mni 2 this year. In contrast, the 2013 iPads are a lot more advanced than the 2012 iPads making the iPad 4 and 1st generation Mini near obsolete. However, their prices are very similar (less than $50 difference)" explains Donalds. "That's why we don't recommend 2012 models unless they’re being bought as kids' tablets" she adds.

The core-hardware specs like the CPU (processor), RAM, display resolution etc. are identical on the Mini 2 and Mini 3. Both of them have the same 1.3 GHz dual-core Apple A7 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 2,048 x 1,536-pixel 7.9″ panel giving rise to a resolution of 326 pixels per inch (this pixel density is identical to that on the iPhone 6).

There are 3 differences between the iPad Mini 2 and 3: (1) Mini 3 is available in Champagne Gold while the Mini 2 is not, (2) Mini 3 is available in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB versions while the other is available in 16GB and 32GB versions, and (3) the 2014 model has a fingerprint scanner and the other doesn't. "Whether you go with a Mini 2 or 3 depends on whether these 3 specs are important or useless to you" says Donalds. "Actually, it depends on whether these 3 features are worth the extra $75 or not. Well, the price difference on Apple store is $100, but thanks to the ongoing Green Monday deals on the Apple iPads, the price difference outside of Apple is only about $70 – $90 depending on where you buy it from" elaborates Donalds.

http://TabletThings.com/Apple-iPad-Mini-DEALS/ summarizes not only iPad Mini Deals from Amazon, Best Buy, Staples and Walmart this Green Monday 2014, but also compares and contrasts the two Mini iPads.

When it comes to the iPad Air 2 vs 1st gen Air comparison, the differences are marked. For example the iPad Air 2 is (1) thinner (0.24 vs 0.29 inches), (2) lighter in weight (0.96 vs 1.05 pounds), (3) faster (1.5 GHz, triple-core, A8X chip and M8 coprocessor vs 1.4 GHz, dual-core, A7 chip and M7 coprocessor) among other differences like availability in Champagne Gold and the fingerprint ID scanner.

"Again, thanks to the ongoing holiday deals, the price difference between the two iPads is roughly $70 – $90. Some people are prepared to pay the extra cash given that they're actually getting a faster, thinner and lighter iPad" concludes Donalds.
