SAUSALITO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 6, 2014) - A company's benefits package is often a core differentiator in today's talent market. In fact, 59 percent of employees are likely to accept a lower salary in exchange for better benefits1. Today, Glassdoor, the leading jobs and career community, announced a new feature that allows employers to detail and highlight their benefits package, allowing companies to further influence and attract job seekers over their rivals.
The employer benefits feature comes at the same time Glassdoor introduces benefits reviews, which allow employees to anonymously rate and review their benefits packages and perks. (Learn more about Benefits Reviews). Glassdoor has collected more than 4,000 reviews as part of a closed beta in the past few weeks. In addition, 250 companies have provided insights about their benefits packages on their employer profiles, including: Amazon.com, Hewlett-Packard and Home Depot.
With the benefits feature, any employer can detail and promote its company benefits and perks on Glassdoor. HR or talent executives can sign up for a Free Employer Account and indicate the benefits that their company offers by selecting benefits across six different categories, including:
-
Insurance, health and wellness (e.g., health and dental insurance)
-
Financial and retirement (e.g., 401(k), pension plans)
-
Family and parenting (e.g., onsite daycare, adoption assistance)
-
Vacation and time off (e.g., holiday pay, sabbaticals)
-
Perks and discounts (e.g., free lunches, dog friendly office, company car)
-
Professional support (e.g., diversity program, tuition assistance)
Companies can add a brief description of each benefit or perk, and comment on employee-provided reviews. Employers with a Glassdoor Enhanced Profile can also add a description of their overall benefits package and include a featured photo or video.
