ChemOutsourcing Expands 2015 Show Into Commercial API Sourcing and Manufacturing

TEANECK, NJ--(Marketwired - May 20, 2015) - ChemOutsourcing today announced that it has implemented a major expansion of the 2015 show by widening its attendee and exhibitor base.

The growth comes through the incorporation of Late Stage Clinical Sourcing (Phase IIB-III) and Commercial API Manufacturing to the existing format.

The 2015 show will take place September 14-17 at Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ.

The strategic move is designed to permit full service of the active ingredients (API) business space beginning this year, commented Mark Alexay, the event organizer. "We are attracting a larger group of buyers and sellers of APIs. The supply chain that supports API manufacturing is long, convoluted, and global in scope. The Generics space is huge. It's a natural progression to move into these areas to generate greater value for attendees."

ChemOutsourcing was founded in 2007 and initially focused solely on Drug Discovery - Phase IIA chemistry sourcing and CMC. The expansion is designed to significantly increase the 700-800 annual attendees from 30 countries and 100-110 exhibitors.

Mark Alexay went on to say that "Attendees suggested the expansion several years ago. They commented that a more comprehensive show would mean fewer business trips, less travel expense, and more productive use of their time. The oceanfront hotel venue and proximity to large pharma companies are good reasons, too. Now is a good time to act."

Other market dynamics behind the decision to expand the show are the globalization of the pharmaceutical supply chain, increasing generic presence, and better funding of emerging biotech companies. "The biotech funding uptick is key," said Alexay. "Because after a prolonged venture capital drought, the last few years have been a dramatic turnaround. We're seeing new money pouring into Emerging Pharma and promising compounds coming out. The molecules have to be scaled up before entering clinical testing. So there are more chemistry projects to source. What a great business opportunity for CMOs!"

Alexay concluded, "North America should have the biggest pharmaceutical ingredients show. It is my hope that this initiative will enable people to make fewer overseas business trips because they get more business done at our event!" www.chemoutsourcing.com
