Retail chain Carrefour Belgium has formed a partnership with VyOS Networks for network transformation for a scaleable and secure retail future.

The partnership is intended to establish a more agile network framework capable of accommodating the evolving demands of the contemporary retail landscape.

Carrefour Belgium operates a network of 800 stores and serves 700,000 consumers each day.

The retailer is integrating VyOS into its cloud-native strategy to transcend the limitations presented by cloud service platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Carrefour Belgium network, security and telecom operations lead Pieter Salaets said: "As we continue to embrace cloud-native solutions, we realised that many companies, like ours, face the limitations inherent in platforms such as GCP and AWS. VyOS provides a powerful solution that can benefit any organisation working entirely in the cloud, helping to overcome these challenges and enabling seamless scaleability and flexibility."

The adoption of VyOS has empowered Carrefour Belgium to quickly respond to escalating operational requirements while maintaining network performance.

The platform also blends with both cloud-based and on-premises environments, fostering swift innovation.

VyOS offers a reduction in operational costs by supplanting costly traditional hardware with a unified, software-centric networking approach.

VyOS Networks chief revenue officer Santiago Blanquet said: "Carrefour Belgium's adoption of VyOS demonstrates the potential for Open Source solutions to solve critical cloud-native challenges while delivering unmatched scaleability and cost efficiency. We're honoured to partner with Carrefour Belgium as they lead the retail industry into a modernised, cloud-native future."

"Carrefour Belgium adopts VyOS for network transformation " was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
