Apple Invented A Tripod For Your iPad

Apple has invented a way to securely mount the iPad to a treadmill, windshield, and bunch of other products using magnets, according to a recent patent discovered by Patently Apple reports.

The patent, which the US Patent & Trademark Office published today, is for a stand and a magnetic attachment system for the iPad, which already has magnets built in.

Apple highlights a few different use cases in the patent. One application could be for photographers and videographers, allowing them to mount the iPad to a small tripod.

Another exciting use case is for musicians. With the magnetic iPad holder, musicians could easily mount the iPad to a music stand for reading sheet music on app like Chromatik, for example.

Apple also describes a system that could magnetically connect two iPads. Since the stand has a wireless transmitter, you would be able to, for example, use one iPad solely as a keyboard while using the other one as a screen for writing documents.

Just remember; Apple files patents on all kinds of inventions that never see the light of day.
